Cloud supports serving members where they work

first_img 8SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr Many credit unions today began 50-, 60- or even 70-plus years ago with a single sponsor. In most cases, the credit union’s first office was on the sponsor’s site. Many credit unions’ first directors and employees were employees of the sponsoring company as well. This structure helped instill trust and create strong member relationships, which turned into a true financial partnership over time. When they were on break from work at the sponsor or taking their lunch, members would walk over to the credit union, say hi, grab some coffee and maybe conduct a transaction. When you combine the resulting strong personal relationships (even friendships) with such a local presence, you often got a captive, targeted audience to engage at a personal level.During that era, credit unions enjoyed–even took for granted–that status of trusted financial partner. Members, in turn, showed loyalty by thinking of the credit union first for every financial need. In that age, members talked about the credit union with their co-workers.To stay competitive, some credit unions eventually changed to community-based charters. More branches and staff were added over time. Then, to reduce cost in the name of convenience, we added technology and other cheaper, less personal delivery channels. And, before we knew it, those originally strong partner relationships began to fade away in hopes of faster credit union growth. continue reading »last_img read more

Villa tactics delight Lambert

Posted on by

first_img “Tactically it was fantastic but you have to have lads who will carry it out and right from the off we were outstanding,” he said. “We have worked a lot on training and the lads have grasped what we are trying to do. “It is hard coming here, a club that nearly won the league last year, a club that has Champions League football and a club whose resources are massive compared to ourselves. “Right from Gabby (Agbonlahor) to (Brad) Guzan defensively we were immense. “There was another goal for Gabby; he signed a new deal and has started the season brilliantly. If he can keep that form, great.” Lambert said there was nothing in the Senderos-Balotelli incident but claimed something untoward had occurred between the Italy striker and Villa’s other centre-back Nathan Baker. “I saw the one before that between Balotelli and Nathan Baker and the fourth official saw that,” he added. “It is a physical game and we are not going to be shrinking violets coming here. You have to handle the occasion and playing against top players.” Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert felt his side were tactically perfect in their 1-0 win at Liverpool but denied they were over-physical in their approach at Anfield. Gabriel Agbonlahor scored from a ninth-minute corner and Villa held on to their lead as they prevented their hosts creating anything dangerous. Defender Philippe Senderos appeared to land a kick on Reds striker Mario Balotelli, who also came in for some rough stuff from Alan Hutton in the first half, but Lambert insisted there was nothing untoward in their approach. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, shorn of the attacking pace of injured Daniel Sturridge and opting to drop Raheem Sterling to the bench, admitted his side struggled to break down the visitors. “It is disappointing. We started slowly, gave away a poor goal, picked up the tempo after that and the players gave everything but we lacked that bit of quality and the final ball,” said the Northern Irishman “You have to give Aston Villa credit, they defended well once they got the goal, kept their lines tight in a low block and we couldn’t get the final pass so it was really frustrating for us. “They defended well; the back four and midfield five were in and Agbonlahor on the counter-attack is always a threat. “We started slowly which is unlike us. We have found a problem with Aston Villa in my time here. We lacked that bit of quality in the final third. “It was just as a team we didn’t have the intensity in our game. Everything was centralised and they were very compact, we needed to get around the sides a bit quicker. “Second half was much better in terms of the domination but apart from Coutinho’s little bit when he hit the post and worked the space well, we never created as much as we would normally do.” On the physicality of Villa Rodgers, who claimed he had not seen the Senderos kick at Balotelli, added: “It is a man’s game and I don’t think they were overly aggressive at all.” Press Associationlast_img read more

Egypt Dares Nigeria in Morocco

Posted on by

first_imgITTF AFRICAN CHAMPIONSHIPSThe defeat Egypt suffered against Nigeria in the final of the men’s team event of the 2015 African Games is still fresh in the memory of Omar Assar and the Egyptian believes this year’s ITTF African Senior Championship would help to settle score against the West African giant.Apart from the team event heartache in Congo Brazzaville, Assar has revenge in his mind against Aruna Quadri, whom he said has been in fine form lately. “I do believe that Egypt is the strongest country in Africa and I trust my teammates and coaches that we can show that in Morocco. I look forward to the classic final between Egypt and Nigeria, which has always been very fun to play and to watch as well for the spectators.“I have been preparing very well for this event and I am looking forward to a great performance. I had two weeks of physical, mental and technical preparation in Germany where I had my last training camp so I can say I am waiting for my good performance in Morocco,” stressed the African star.Assar however admits that Quadri is in fine form and that the battle in Morocco will be fierce.“I must admit that Aruna Quadri has played in top level recently in the French league and international events, so it will be interesting to see our match in Morocco especially in the men’s singles. I expect a good start with my teammates in team event first, then in singles I am very hungry to display a very good performance.”“For sure, when it comes to Egypt and when you represent Egypt, you always look for gold not only in Africa but everywhere else. I must also say that our women team is very strong and stable, however some injuries can affect the team but I see that there are some new young stars are coming now and they are fresh and hungry to win. Also Dina Meshref has been playing in such a high level tournaments and she showed that she is one of the best African female player at all time.”“Table tennis in Africa has taken a different shape since the new board of African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) came on board because there have been conscious efforts to promote the sport and I am very happy that I can see that ITtv is covering the African events almost everywhere. But we are waiting for much more and expecting more promotion locally in Egypt and Nigeria.”As a Pan Africanist, Assar said: “I would love to see one day that there is something called Team Africa and they play regularly with teams from Europe and Asia from time to time. This would surely help the players to improve themselves.”Share this:FacebookRedditTwitterPrintPinterestEmailWhatsAppSkypeLinkedInTumblrPocketTelegramlast_img read more
