first_imgMost of us weren’t fortunate enough to make it to Comic Con in San Diego this past weekend. However, the Comic Con updates are still trickling in, and Star Wars fans will surely be pleased by some surprise news that was announced at the Star Wars Fan Movie Awards.A short trailer of the Star Wars Saga Blu-ray release was played during the award ceremony. The release wasn’t the surprise, though; Star Wars fans were already well aware that the Blu-ray discs would be released on September 16. The exciting news was that the release will feature tons of deleted footage.AdChoices广告There’s good reason to be excited about this because most of the footage has never been seen before. Much of the footage has lived as just rumors passed around Star Wars message boards – until now. The trailer is just under a minute long, but you can get a taste of what’s to come in the video below, including the Tatooine Sandstorm with Chewie and Lando, the Endor bunker assault, and R2D2 escaping from a Wampa in The Empire Strikes Back, among other things. There’s also a shot of Luke picking at some sort of bright light on his hand, which has us very curious. The Blu-ray set will feature over 40 hours of bonus material. Three of the discs in the nine-disc saga are full of deleted scenes, props, interviews, paintings, and so on. The U.K. will be seeing the release of the definitive collection on September 12, four days before we do in the U.S. Until then, we’ll just have to re-watch the 57-second video over and over.via Starpulselast_img
