Swindon keen on signing George Moncur, son of Robins legend John

first_img George Moncur in action against Tottenham in this season’s FA Cup 1 Swindon are keen on a move for ex-West Ham youngster George Moncur – the son of Robin legend John.It has been suggested that the 22-year-old will be allowed to leave Colchester United this summer following the Essex club’s relegation from League One.And now Swindon are among the clubs interested in landing him should he become available.Former West Ham star John Moncur spent two years as a Swindon player between 1992 and 1994, during which time George was born in the town.And the midfielder, who came through the ranks with the Hammers, could be headed back to his ‘hometown’ club.Moncur scored 20 goals in 86 league outings for Colchester since his arrival in 2014.last_img

MASSIVE CHARITY FUNDRAISER TAKES PLACE IN GLENTIES THIS WEEKEND

first_imgA massive crowd is expected to attend the Biddy Devine Memorial weekend in the picturesque village of Glenties this weekend.The fundraising weekend is in its seventh year and has so far raised an incredible €45,000 for the Renal Dialysis Unit in Letterkenny General Hospital. Organisers have again provided another superb weekend of events which caters for all the family.The memorial weekend has been an incredible success since it began and continues to get bigger and better every year.On Friday, the 5K/10K walk and run kicks-off the weekend, which will be followed by a table quiz in The Glen Tavern.Tables of four are €20 and the quiz gets underway at 10pm.
